CIRCL Update: New NSF Opportunities & Share your #NSFStories

Dear Colleague,

First, congratulations to all of you who presented your stories in the Video Showcase! Check out the 14 cyberlearning-related videos and 33 winners of Facilitator’s Choice, Public Choice, and Presenter’s Choice awards. The event drew more than 58,000 visitors from 143 countries, with more than 6,000 discussion posts exchanged. All videos are also now available on the STEM for All Multiplex.

Second, we wanted to give you a quick heads up on three new NSF opportunities:

  • NSF DCL: CAREER Proposals Submitted EHR invites proposals from eligible members of the STEM education research community. Note that while these are listed as EHR programs, technically CAREER proposals to Cyberlearning are submitted to CISE/IIS (select Cyberlearning program). Proposals are due by July 27, 2020.
  • NSF Fairness in Artificial Intelligence in Collaboration with Amazon (FAI) invites proposals on computational research focused on fairness in AI, with the goal of contributing to trustworthy AI systems that are readily accepted and deployed to tackle grand challenges facing society. Proposals are due July 13, 2020.

Note that relevant to all of these solicitations, NSF has released an updated Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 20-1).

Finally, we have heard that NSF continues to have high interest in the work that cyberlearning investigators are doing. To celebrate their 70th anniversary, NSF has launched a public awareness campaign called I am an NSF Story, so we encourage you to post your NSF story online and share it in social media using the hashtag #NSFstories – and NSF may feature your story in their blog. Also, if you aren’t already doing so, make sure to follow CIRCL on Twitter (@CIRCLCenter).

Questions? Always feel free to contact us.

Best wishes,

The CIRCL Team
