The topic of this special issue if IJSME aims to investigate the significance and value of the maker movement to science and mathematics education. It is expected that authors would be able to investigate how the maker movement contributes to theories and practices of science and mathematics education from the viewpoints of maker-centered learning, maker-centered teaching and maker-centered environment design.
