We developed Persketchtivity, a software-tutoring tool designed to provide guidance and instant feedback as students learn the basics of free-hand product sketching. We will have a demonstration of the tutoring system and a poster quantifying the impact on student spatial visualization skills and sketching abilities. Persketchtivity can be used in traditional engineering visualization (CAD) classes, studio classes, in MOOC environments, or integrated with other active learning approaches. Natural sketch-based AI tools have significant potential to revolutionize education, but they are so new little is known about the impact or how to design them to maximize benefits and this project provides guidance for similar work.
