Buddy Orientation Meetings

Dear Cyberlearning 2016 Buddy Participant,

We are thrilled you’re coming to the Cyberlearning 2016 (CL16) meeting. We will be holding two online Buddy Orientation meetings for CL16. The same content will be covered in both meetings, so you only need to attend one. We will also have time for questions and discussion. We hope you can make one of the times; if not, we’ll have recordings available. We will send a link when the recordings are posted after the sessions.

The meetings times will be:
– January 7th at 10-11 am Pacific / 1-2 pm Eastern
– January 14th at 3-4 pm Pacific / 6-7 pm Eastern

The meetings will take place in Zoom; here is the connection information:

Zoom URL: https://zoom.us/j/201439697
Phone: (415) 762-9988 or (646) 568-7788 US Toll
Meeting ID: 201 439 697

Zoom supports audio, so you can listen and talk through your computer. Zoom will need to install a plugin if you haven’t used it before; we recommend that you connect a few minutes early. If you have any difficulties with Zoom, or prefer using the phone, just dial in by phone.

Cyberlearning 2016 is a meeting that requires active participation and has several different types of activities. In the orientation meetings we will discuss:

  1. An overview of the program and the different types of sessions
  2. Possible roles for you before, during, and/or after the meeting
  3. Reimbursement for travel and hotel
  4. An optional (but fun and highly recommended) Sunday evening group dinner

Some of the teachers and graduate students who attended the conference last year will also be joining the online orientation discussion to share tips and perspectives.

Before we meet online, you may want to review the Cyberlearning 2016 Program and learn more about the buddies program at Cyberlearning 2016.

We hope you can make one of the sessions, but if not, please watch the meeting recording(s) when they are posted and email me any questions you have–questions are welcome anytime.
