(Dates to be announced, application coming soon)
In collaboration with minority serving institutions and STELAR, between April and July 2016, CIRCL’s partner EDC aims to conduct two informational working meetings of up to 15 participants each. The meetings will familiarize potential NSF PIs with the CFLT program and its research, and the NSF proposal development process; and will identify up to 20 potential NSF “Fellows” who will be mentored as they develop CFLT proposals for upcoming solicitations. Collaborating MSIs will be selected through an RFP process where they describe their faculty’s interest in preparing NSF proposals within the upcoming year, commitment to recruiting participants, and adequacy of facilities/meeting space. Up to 20 of these CL Fellows will be matched in experienced NSF PIs and participate in a structured 2+month mentoring experience to: broaden participation in STEM by developing the proposal development capacity of individuals and institutions that have not received prior CFLT funding, and to learn more about the challenges faced by individuals/institutions less represented in STEM as they seek NSF funding.
