Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining have become increasingly prevalent in the fields of educational technology and learning sciences. Their use includes creative and novel ways to collect, pre-process and analyze data from different modalities. In this expertise exchange, participants will learn about ways of using learning analytics and data mining in a variety of research projects (e.g., in education), that can help them think about applications in their own respective research questions The expertise will include a panel discussions and small group activities lead by leading researchers in these fields. Additionally, participants will learn about tools and informational resources that can help them integrate learning analytics and educational data mining into their work.
