We present our work-in-progress on the development of the MLA research approach: a theoretically based, computational method for performing microgenetic analysis of collaborative problem-solving conversations in technology rich learning environments.

Predicting undergraduate STEM achievement using only early learning behavior

Prediction models are developed using traces of undergraduate STEM learners’ behaviors in their BlackboardLearn course site. The models generate alerts that arrive a week before the first exam, allowing students to adjust their effort and tactics.
