Data Consortium Fellowships for Spring 2016

The goal of the NSF funded Data Consortium Fellows (DCF) is to support learning sciences researchers across the United States in developing the capacity to apply best practices in learning analytics and play. To that end, we created the Data Consortium Fellows program. Fellows can apply for up to $2000 in participant support for a new collaboration that results in a short (500+ word) white paper detailing a new research question, method, or finding in creative learning analytics and play.

Those interested in applying should put together a brief proposal (300 words max, excluding references) outlining the collaboration. Also include (in addition to the 300 word description): a short budget justification; a brief biosketch/CV; and the names and affiliations of any relevant collaborators. All are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to collaborations that include at least one person without published work in learning analytics.

The applications will be reviewed by the DCF program, led by Matthew Berland (UW–Madison), Mike Tissenbaum (UW–Madison), Andrew Krumm (SRI International), and Alex Bowers (Teachers College, Columbia University).

Fellowships will be awarded based on review of fit, merit, and funds availability. For full consideration, please submit your application by 11:59PM March 15, 2016. One application per individual only, please.

Applications should be sent to dcf@lists.wisc.edu with the subject: “DCF Spring 2016 Application”

Please email Matthew Berland at mberland@wisc.edu if you have any questions or concerns!
